Overview

WORK180's mission is to help women expect better in the workplace. Over time, the platform has gathered a wealth of DEI Assessment data and benchmarks about how employers support gender equity through their policies, culture, and leadership.

However, the previous Employer Search pages weren't built to showcase this information effectively. Key data was scattered, partially gated, and presented in a way that made it difficult for users to understand and compare employers.

The objective was to create a centralised, easy-to-navigate Top Employers page that consolidates all key data, enables comparison and ranking, and encourages deeper engagement without requiring users to jump between multiple pages or log in prematurely.

The challenge

Despite having high-quality data, the platform wasn't presenting it in a user-friendly or accessible way. Users could view limited information about one benefit but were required to log in to access the rest, causing a noticeable drop-off. Feedback also revealed that the content was too industry-specific, making it difficult for many users to interpret and engage with.

There was also no functionality to compare or rank employers without doing so manually. This made it harder to support people during a key part of their career journey and limited the visibility of employers actively driving change.

The target was to reach 4,000 active users per month by positioning the Top Employers page as a central research hub where job seekers and community members can confidently explore reliable, in-depth employer information in a clear and accessible format.

Process

I facilitated a design session with Product and Engineering to map the current job seeker journey and identify pain points, many of which were backed by insights from Hotjar recordings, user surveys, and past research. We then co-created an opportunity-solution tree to support continuous improvement, prioritising solutions based on impact and effort to quickly align on next steps.

I created user flows, wireframes, and responsive designs, running design sessions with internal stakeholders throughout to gather feedback, validate decisions, and continuously improve the experience.

To support brand differentiation, we showcased WORK180's DEI Assessment data in a clear, transparent way. By surfacing real policies and progress, the page helped users evaluate employers more confidently and positioned WORK180 as a trusted source. The UI was designed to be clean, accessible, and responsive, with strong visual hierarchy and progressive disclosure to avoid overwhelming users with data.

Throughout the build, I partnered closely with Engineering, documenting edge cases, refining interaction details, and supporting QA. I also collaborated with Product, Marketing, and our DEI Advisor to ensure the content reflected our tone of voice and resonated with users.
